Helen Lewicki

Helen Francis Lewicki graduated form Pittsburgh's South High School in the June class of 1936. I estimate that she was born in or around 1917 and lived in the Allegheny county area of Pittsburgh PA, probably in Ward 6. According to the research I've done, there are some Lewicki's residing in the Pittsburgh area, however, I haven't been able to locate her. If you are a relative of friend of Helen, please contact me as I would like to return her calliong card from so many years ago.

Lois Klinger

I am currently searching for Lois V. Klinger who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High school in 1936. If Lois married, her last name will be different and she was probably born in or around 1917. Not only can I say that Lois lived in Allegheny County in 1936, but I actually have the address she resided at the year she graduated from High school. It was:

51 South thirty Second Street
Pittsburgh, PA

This information was posted on one of the two signature cards that I have in my collection for Lois Klinger.
According to the description posted in Sough High's "Oriole" Yearbook, Lois was involved in the following clubs:
Senior leaders, Camera, Senior Travel and Band. her nickname was "Lo" and she is described with this statement in the yearbook:
"Lois is the ray of sunshine and the delight of our class." I have been researching the Klinger name
in Pittsburgh and have found very little information. If you know Lois, or are related to her, please contact me as I would like to return both of her high school signature cards.

Julia Kuhar

I am currently searching for Julia A. Kuhar who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High school in June of 1936. She may have married and if so would have a different last name. She was probably born between 1916 and 1918 and lived in the 6th ward of Allegheny county, which was in the South High School district. Here are some details that are posted about her that display next to her senior portrait in the 1936 high school yearbook, the "Oriole":

Description: Can Julia Swim? We'll say she can. she's what you call an All-American girl in sports.

According to my research there is a Julia Kumar Jennison that at one time lived in Cranberry Twp PA and was married to Anthony Jennison. I am not certain, but this may be the Julia Kuhar that I am searching for. If you know of, are, or are related to Julia please contact me as I would like to return her calling card.

Edward Klaniecki

I am seacrhing for Edward Klaniecki who was born in or around 1917 and lived in ward 6 of Pittsburgh's Allegheny county.

Joseph Rudick


I am searching for Joseph Rudick who attended Pittsburgh's South High School, located on East Carson Street in the South side. Joseph was probably born in 1916 or 1917 and graduated from high school in the June class of 1936. I am currently searching for Mr. John Cunningham who graduated in the June 1936 class from Pittsburgh's South High school on East Carson Street. John was probably born in 1916 or 1917 and lived in the 6th Ward of Pittsburgh's Allegheny County. William Dewalt


I am currently searching for William E. Dewalt who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High School in 1936. Here is the information posted next to his senior portrait in the 1936 edition of the "Oriole" Yearbook:

Description: Bill is the jolly sort whose witty remarks always gain a flock of admirers wherever he is.

I have been researching Dewalt families in the Pittsburgh area and believe that William was born on July 30, 1917 and may have at one time resided in Canonsburg, Washington, PA. Eugene Czemerys Graduated from high school in the June 1936 class fromPittsburgh's South High School. Here are some of the details posted by his senior portrait in the 1936 "Oriole", South High Schools yearbook:

I am currently searching for Celesta Carnahan as I have her calling card and would love to return it to her or a close relative. Her picture is displayed in the "Oriole", Pittsburgh's South High School yearbook under the June graduating class of 1936. her name is posted as "A. Celesta Carnahan" on her calling card, so i do believe that Celesta may be her middle name. I have been researching the Carnahan family in PA and have not been able to find much information. Ruth Ehman


I am searching for Ruth Ehman, who graduated from Pittsburgh's South high school in June of 1936. Her senior class picture is displayed on the left. Here are some more deatils about Ruth according to the 1936 South High School yearbook, the "Oriole":

Mary Holowchak

This lovely young lady on the left is Ms. Mary Holowchak, who graduated in the February class of 1936 from Pittsburgh's South High School on East Carson Street. I have two spellings for her last name, "Holowchak", as it appears on her calling card and "Hollochak" as it appears in the yearbook. I suspect that there was an error in the spelling in the yearbook, as the cards are typically custom made/ordered by each individual. Here are some additional deatils about Mary, from the yearbook:

Georgia Albert

I am searching for Georgia Albert who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High school in June of 1936. Posted on the left is her senior high portrait as displayed in the "Oriole" high school yearbook. Here is some additional detail that is written about her in the "Oriole":

Description:"georgia, with her wit and pep, is a stick of human dynamite in the class.

Mary Grapp

I am searching for Mary Grapp as I have her senior high school calling card and would like to return it to her or a member of her family. Her senior high school portrait, as displayed in the 1936 Pittsburgh's South High school yearbook "The Oriole" is shown on the left. According to this source, she graduated in the June call of 1936. Here is the description that is posted by her picture:

Description: "One who laughs away her worries".

Rita R. Hertrich

I am currently seraching for Rita R Hertrich who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High School in the June class of 1936. Not only do I have her card, but I have also located her senior portrait from the yearbook as well as the following description:

Nickname: "Wee Wee"
Clubs/Activities: Thespians, Senior Leaders, Auto Drivers
A charming miss who worked hard to graduate in leap year.

I have not had much luck finding information on Miss Hertrich, despite numerous searches and hours of research. Suprisingly, I was not even able to locate her in the 1930's census. I did find some other "Hetrich" folk, living in Allegheny county in the 1930's census and their names are as follows:

Bertha Hertrich
Dorothy Hertrich

Catherine Deah

I am currently searching for Catherine Deah, who graduated from Pittsburgh's South High School in 1936. Catherine gave her high school signature card to my grandmother when they were in high school together and I would like to return it to her or one of her close relatives. In the 1936 "Oriole", South High's yearbook, I was able to find this picture of Catherine, confirming that she graduated in the June class of 1936. The yearbook includes this description of Catherine:

Nickname "Sweetie Pie"
Activitis/Clubs:
Ayita, Ches, Yearbook, World and Travel
Things begin to get lively when sweetie comes along

Rose Lestitian

Rose Lestitian gave her high school signature card to my grandmother many years ago, probably in 1935 or 1936. Now, I am hoping to locate Rose or one of her close relatives as I would like to return the signature card, displayed on the left, to her. Rose graduated from Pittsburgh's South High school on East Carson Street in 1936, as I have located her picture in the 1936 edition of the "Oriole" yearbook. Back then, only pictures of graduating students were published in the yearbook. I know that Rose must have resided in Allegheny County, probably in the 6th Ward, which would have been the South High school district. I have researched Rose's name and think that she may have a sister named Katherine, but am not certain. If you know Rose or are related to her, please contact me!






Milton K. Daszynycz

I am currently searching for Mr. Milton K. Daszynycz as I would like to return the high school signature card that he gave to my grandmother in 1936. I know very little about Milton but did locate his picture in the 1935 edition of the "Oriole", Pittsburgh's South high School yearbook. I confirmed that Milton graduated from South High in 1936 and know that he must have resided in Allegheny County, Ward 6. He was probably born in 1916 or 1917. I am no longer searching for Agnes Kirley who attended South High School in Pittsburgh, Pa and graduacted in the June class of1936. I have located her family and returned her card to them! Hooray!
