I am searching for William Rieber who lived in the 6th ward of allegheny county in 1936. he would have attended Pittsburgh's South High School and graduated in the June class of 1936. According to the high school yearbook, The "Oriole", William was a member of the chess club and his nickname was "Bill". I know that he was probably born in or around 1917. I have been researching Rieber family's in the Pittsburgh area and believe that he lived on Pittsburgh's South Side and passed away on June 16th 2002. If I am correct, he was the husband of Dorothy Hovanec Rieber; father of William J. and Mark V. Rieber, Alicia A. Aul, Lloyd P., and Mary C. Rieber. If you know William or his family, please contact me so that I can get his calling card to it's rightful owner.
The purpose of this blog is to assist me in locating members of the 1936 graduating class of South High School in Pittsburgh PA. In 2003, I acquired a box of calling cards that my grandmother, Ida Turkovich, had saved for many years. Looking over the names, I became interested in each individual. Knowing that every card was last in the hand of its original owner, so long ago, stirred a curiosity in my heart. I am now on a quest to reunite each of the cards with its original owner.
